A Biological Collections Management System (CMS) platform. | PAPIS is a Collections Management System (CMS) application based on Claris Filemaker Pro. The system covers all curatorial needs for material registration and online data sharing, and is suited for NH Museums, collection managers, as well as for individual curators, for registering biological material of all kingdoms. It manages species and specimen information for computerizing biological collections, tracking specimen transactions (inbound & outbound loans), linking images to specimen records, expeditions, DNA sequence runs, literature references, a variety af label creation, publishing catalogue data to the Internet, plus a numerous variety of additional features. You can mount the software onto a FileMaker server, give access rights to selected individuals and let people work simultaneously with the system, using a browser or with FM Pro., or, you can have the system on your desktop or laptop computer and work alone.. The system is intuitive and easy to work with, in addition there is numerous pop-up-windows with "how to do" guidelines. The software is available to the scientific community as a free and open-source system. The Papis software is a non-commercial product and may not be used for commercial purposes.
